The Hamden Town Hall has confirmed the veracity of the death certificate of Marigold Jansen Sommers, who was said to have hanged herself from a light fixture in her Carmalt Road home. The year of death on the certificate is dated 1874. For many years rumors have swirled around the possibility that Marigold still haunts the room in which she hanged herself, however neighbors and other Hamdenites always assumed it was the stuff that urban legends are made of. It was only in February of 2017 that a Hamden Town Hall clerk unearthed the original death certificate while cleaning out a basement storage room.
Marigold Jansen Sommers' spirit is said to have vacated the room in which she hanged herself and it is believed that she has followed the most recent inhabitant of the room to the West Coast. Marigold Jansen Sommers is believed to be a benevolent spirit. However, during her days amongst the living, she was said to have a tortured soul, obsessed with owls and Burger King.
